Hi Jon,

I can't be there sorry - I originally thought it would be fine but I
need to stay home for family reasons (babysitting my own kid for a change).

I'd like to see what comes out of the discussion regarding the time info
in the record.

Are you opening up the question of Duration v's Snapshot again?

I can make some comments about Measurement time and creation time.
At least I can find if I understand things in the same was as others.

Measurement time - defines the time at which the storage usage was
actually measured (system probed or logs analysed)

Measurement time may not fit too well with Duration.
If the service (probe/daemon) at the site needs to query several times
and later forms an average (detailing the duration as the span of these
probes) then we have an issue with measurement time.

The snapshot idea would in this case may look a bit simpler.

Creation time - I would say is when the UR is published (or formed from
n measurements)?

If we have a system which can publish a record numerous times then the
creation time would become relevant.
Say if you see a problem with a record for a specific time duration and
the site re-calculates it.
The second UR could have the same measurement time but a different
Creation time?

I'm really sorry i can't make it

cheers
johnk
