07/24/07 Call Minutes

 

Participants:

-          Alan Yoder - NetApp

On the call, both Alan and Vincent reported that there seem to be an
important gap between the Grid community and the Storage community when
addressing the notions of Data Management and Storage Management. A
clarification of positions and initiatives in these areas from both
communities appears to be an interesting thing to do at both the Aug10
SNIA-OGF meeting and possibly at the OGF22 Symposium in Feb08. 



Chris reported that the GSM-WG seems to be more visible and active
recently, including outside OGF. Please see some of their recent

There was a consensus on the call to seek some sync-up session(s) at
OGF22 in Feb08 with all groups from the Data Area to possibly establish
a common plan to allow a better focus on Industry requirements - this
could be part of the workshop agenda. To be discussed on Aug10.
Reminder: because of the overlap between OGF21 and SNW-Fall, there won't
be any SN-CG meeting at OGF21. We also discussed the opportunity to
drive CIM and SMI-S education at OGF22.

 

If there are any specific topics that your would like to see addressed
as part of the OGF22 workshop SN-CG is planning to have in collaboration
with SNIA, or if there are any specific collaboration items that you
would like to see discussed between SNIA & OGF on Aug10 please let us
know.
