Status GSA-RG (Grid Scheduling Architecture)
---------------------------------------------
The framework/first draft for the document about requirements on the
components, services and protocols for a Grid Scheduling Architecture
has finally been sent out yesterday. This is the result of a joint work
with Philip Wieder and a F2F meeting which we had before the holidays.
The outline of this doc was discussed during the GGF12 session and several
people volunteered to contribute as editors on this document. We hope that we
can followup on that. As the planned next milestone we would like to have a
first complete draft ready for the GGF13 meeting.
Last autumn the European Union started the Network of Excellence "CoreGrid"
which has a dedicated WP6 on Grid scheduling architecture and strategies for
next generation grids. It is planned to link these efforts with the GSA-RG
activities in order to increase community involvement. A corresponding workshop
is scheduled for January 13th.
I will be at the GGF meeting in Korea and we plan 1-2 sessions for GSA-RG.
