We have both enjoyed chairing this group and have found the work to be very rewarding. We are proud of the group's achievements; not only the OGSA Data Architecture document but also working with other working groups and encouraging the creation of new groups such as OGSA ByteIO and OGSA DMI. There are plenty of challenges left in the design of a grid data architecture and we would be delighted if someone would step up and lead the group from here. Mario will be leading a session at OGF22 next week to discuss the future of the group and the work that remains. Allen, Mario and I have written a short memo that summarises the key technical areas that we think need to be addressed with regard to data management services in OGSA. You can find this note on the group's space on GridForge - http://forge.ogf.org/sf/docman/do/viewDocument/projects.ogsa-d-wg/docman.root/doc15052?_message=1203535633254. This memo is our personal opinions; it has not been reviewed by the group at large and hence is not an official product of the working group. It remains for us to thank all of you for contributing in many ways over the years. It has been a joy to work with you and we wish the group every success in the future. Best wishes, Dave. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: http://www.ogf.org/pipermail/ogsa-d-wg/attachments/20080221/c1ba9020/attachment.html
