In some FttH networks, a IEEE standard is used where traffic in both
directions is using a single strand of glassfiber on different
wavelengths. The upstream is using 1310 nm, while the downstream uses
1550 nm. This is an example of a bidirectional connection using a
-seemingly- unidirectional medium.
