   Minutes form the INFOD conference call on Thursday, July 13 @ 8 am PDT:

Participants: Chris, Dieter, Steve, Susan and Vijay

Discussions:

    * The Use Case document needs to be updated ASAP. Please start from
      the most current version *The most current version is in the
      Current Draft folder* . We will create a new version in the
      Current Document folder once we have added the necessary changes.
    * Steve will move pending action into the Current Actions folder. 
    * Steve will provide a document specifying which functional
      enhancements are required for RGMA.
    * Most of the time was spend on the discussion of the next version.
      Here are some key ideas - these ideas are very preliminary:
          o In addition to the Base Specifications (level 0) we will
            create two more levels 1 and 2.
          o Level 1 will have disseminators. Publishers and consumers
            can be associated to disseminators to offload functionality
            and gain better operational characteristics (e.g.,
            retention, auditing, transactions, security). Publishers can
            publish and consumer can receive messages using an
            associated disseminator. Disseminators will allow consumers
            to pull messages but can also be directed to push these
            messages. Disseminators will host streams/queues/feeds
            preferably consisting of XML data. Publishers can deliver
            messages to consumers using the associated disseminators.
            Disseminators use WS-notification to send messages to
            publishers or other disseminators.
          o Level 2 is dealing with the communication between
            disseminators. Binary XML, streaming and optimized routing
            will be among the techniques to do so.
    * GGF18: - /a repeat from the last conference call/
          o Two 45 sessions have been requested, one to discuss the Base
            Specifications and one to discuss ideas related to
            Extended/Advanced Specifications
          o There will be an F2F meeting on September 9 an 10 right
            before GGF18. The meeting will be hosted by Oracle. We will
            most likely meet in Reston (close to the Dulles
            International Airport).
          o The first day of the F2F will be dedicated to the Base
            Specification (level 0), the second day to the structure of
            level 1 & level 2.
