[infod-wg] Minutes of Teleconference call held on 11th of November 2004

 Dieter, Steve, Abdeslem, Cecile, Shailendra, Vijay, Susan and Chris 

Minutes: 

  a.. Susan provided an update of the WSN and the OGSA related activities and has undertaken the actions items described below. 
  b.. Abdeslem's document was discussed by the group and in brief the discussion highlighted the following points: 
    a.. It may be feasible to provide INFOD services as extensions to the core WSN specification. However we may reconsider the decision, if the discussions at WSN forums were unable to accomodate the specific requirements of INFOD. Alternatives  to the approach of extending the WSN specification include maintaining compatibility with WSN specifications, but not building on top of WSN. 
    b.. It was felt that the specific requirements of the INFOD services need to be better articulated. Subsequently, INFOD documents may be revised to appropriately and explicitly convey, position our work with respect to the other groups such as WSN and OGSA. 
  c.. Steve provided a brief status on the progress being made on use cases. 
  d.. Cecile volunteered to help position Abdeslems document w.r.t. to thinking of INFOD group. 

Actions: 

  a.. Susan to ask Dave Berry (OGSA Data Design) to invite INFOD to the Data Movement session 
  b.. Susan to pull together the recent WSN discussions on policy and distribution for the next INFOD call. 
  c.. Dieter and Abdeslem will discuss specific observations made during todays telecon - meeting was on 18th of November 2004, Cecile also attended the same. 
Next telecon will be held on 2nd of December, due to thanks giving holidays on next Thursday the 25th of November.
