[GSM-WG] Use cases for storage use of information system

Hi.

I am sending this now because there is a GSSD meeting today which I will
not be able to attend because I am in another meeting.

I think we need to go back and start (again) from the use cases, a
work-in-progress document attached. I have made it a word document so
everybody can contribute but please feed back comments and questions to me.

The idea is to analyse the use cases again against 1.3 and see if
anything is missing. I had a stab at the "discover SA which holds file"
which was new to me.

Secondly, regarding the space<->SA discussion, GLUE actually had this
definition in the Jan 07 draft:
"StorageArea - Portion of storage extent to which a uniform set of
policies applies."

Which I think is pretty good (er, I don't remember if I wrote it),
because rather than discussing the philosophy of whether one is the
other, the focus should be on interoperability and making efficient use
of storage resources. The SA should be used to advertise resources.
Just my 0.02.

Thanks,
--jens
