All,
A reminder that there is a telephone conference scheduled for tomorrow,

Thursday, November 3, at 1:30 EST (4:30 PST).

Agenda: To discuss workshop on reliability and robustness to be held in
early 2006 and
to finalize the related call for participation (a draft of which was
distributed earlier).

Suggestions for additional agenda items are welcome.

I have not yet received the details of the number to call and the
passcode. These have
been ordered and will be forwarded as soon as I get them.

Sincerely,
Chris Dabrowski

Based on the feedback I have gotten, several of us have no conflicts
for Thursday, November 3, at 1.30 EST (10.30 PST)? Can we reschedule
at this time?

I will provide information about the number to call and passcode.

Also, our GGF emailing list seems ready. I am verifying that it works
and will
add your emails to it.

Chris

Also, I mentioned Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and there is
a lot of info at this site,

I think it s a useful technique for people interested in reliability.

All,

If anyone has further comments on the documents I distributed earlier,
please
send them along. At this point it seems we should soon proceed with the
telecon
to discuss the call for participation for our planned workshop.

What would be our availability for a telecon next week, possibly
Tuesday,
early afternoon (1.30 PM EST)? Is that time terrible for anyone? If so,
please give me alternative availabilities.

I have also forwarded the email below to participants in the first BOF
in
Brussels (GGF12), to see who else might be interested in joining the
future RG.

Sincerely,
Chris Dabrowski

Dear All,

Thank you for attending the Grid Reliability and Robustness BOF at GGF15
on
Thursday October 6. (and for staying until the afternoon of the last day
of the
meeting). To those of you who attended the first BOF at GGF12 in
Brussels
and were unable to attend this one, I have CCed you and hope you can
resume
participation.

I summarize the results of our meeting at GGF15 as follows:

1.We agree to proceed with the formation of the RG with Geoff Fox and
myself
as chairs. Others are welcome to volunteer for position as chair and/or
secretary.
Attached is a draft charter for comment (see zip file). This charter was
originally
drafted in the fall of 2004 after the initial BOF meeting at GGF12 in
Brussels.

2.Our first action is to plan a workshop to consist of 10-15
presentations on
work being done within our organizations on reliability and robustness.
The
workshop is to take place either at GGF16 in Athens or an interim GGF
meeting
that may occur in the first part of next year. I have created a draft
workshop call
which is attached for comment in the zip file. Let's give ourselves
until October 24
to comment on this (or longer if someone needs it). Then I will
organize a telephonic
conference to finalize the details of the call statement and the plan
to execute the
workshop. The telephonic should take place in late October.

3. I will set up a web page for our prospective RG either with GGF (with
Geoff's help)
or within my own organization.

4. For those of you who requested it, I will add your email addresses to
the
original GGF email list for the BOF. (Those of you who made no request
will not
be added).

5. A copy of my presentation is attached in the zip file. The scope and
goals statements
are part of the charter, so please comment.

Please note that I will be unable to attend to items 3 and 4 until the
week of October 17.
I will be out of the office next week.

Sincerely,

Chris Dabrowski
