Dear all,

I wanted to update you on the current status of the BOF follow-up
meeting on reliability and robustness.

If you recall, the plan that was put forth in Brussels called for us to
hold a session at GGF 13 (March 13-16) in Seoul in which interested
participants would give 10-minute presentations on work being done
within their organizations pertaining to grid reliability. A workshop
would then be held at GGF14.

I have canvassed the Brussels BOF attendees by email to learn of
their travel plans to GGF13. As of today (Feb. 7), it does not appear
that we will have a sufficient number of people on hand to have a
reasonable number of presentations. The purpose of having this
presentation series is to allow people interested in this topic to learn
about each other's work. This cannot be accomplished unless a
sufficient number of people are able to convene at one place in a
face-to-face meeting.

So unless some of you who have indicated you will not be coming
change your minds (and I would be very pleased if you did), it may
be best to postpone the meeting planned for GGF13 and resume this
effort at the next GGF in June when we can assemble a larger number.

I thank those of you who attended the Brussels meeting and have
been supporting this effort since then. If we can't really make a go of this
at GGF13, lets stay in touch and be ready to resume this effort at the
next GGF. On the other hand, if I have overlooked people who are
coming and didn't respond or are still making up their minds, please let me
know at once as we are still within the deadline for scheduling meetings.

Sincerely,
Chris Dabrowski
