Hi Dave,
and how would you run Xen on a BlueGene or a XT4?
HW Virtualizations like Xen or VMWare are certainly useful in contexts
where performance does not play the most important role. But when it
comes to job execution virtualization is currently not an option.
E.g. parallel environments have to be used the increased latency in
network communication may swallow the benefit of parallel execution.
Support for Infiniband or Myrinet is not available anyway, afaik.
IMHO, hence, everything has to work without virtualization, especially
when supercomputers are the targeted computing resource.
