Hi all,

Here is the title and abstract of ETSI's presentation in EGR-RG session
at OGF25.

Satoshi (I)
-----
ETSI initiatives on gap analysis for interoperability in Grids
Julian Gallop, ETSI Specialist Task Force on Grids and Visitor STFC RAL

Although ETSI is the European Telecommunications Standards Institute, it
also has a global membership and global impact. Past standards include
GSM and the organization now has a formal technical committee on Next
Generation Networking and also on Grids. This formal situation reflects
the extent to which telecommunications enterprises are engaging in major
projects to test the effectiveness of Grids, including EU Projects.
ETSI's big concern is interoperability of Grids. It is performing a gap
analysis in this area and some early documents are becoming available.
It is also planning a plugtest towards the end of this year.

The talk will present problems, progress, contrasts with the EGR gap
analysis and possible future and will invite feedback on the way forward.

The presenter Julian Gallop was until recently at the UK Research
Councils' Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL), which has a major
programme in e-science and Grids, and is a member of the ETSI Specialist
Task Force on Grids.
