             Different reasons. In this case trumpofascist clowns

   They'd make more money if they provided real privacy, so it's clearly
   more obvious flagging from team trump that they are not free to do
   anything helpful but can at least make the problems more obvious to
   everyone while they all get more rich.

             according to the article the processor/soc comes from a
     taiwanese company. No doubt other parts may come from mainland
     china, etc. But that applies to virtually all fucktard phones. The
     pine64 phone uses a chinese processor as well.
