   difficulties communicating, or difficulties establishing patterns in
   the world that one chooses.

   ability to research technology than other ways of engaging the world.
   Maybe they would appreciate gifts that aid the research of technology,
   or provide increased capacity for handling other ways of engaging the
   world.
   - mind control demonstrates a norm of producing results without
   worrying about how they are met.  Maybe the gift-giver is in a position
   of power, or maybe they have very tight deadlines.  Maybe the
   gift-giver has had to meet very tight deadlines themselves.
