let's assume i can:
- engage the nerves
- disengage the nerves
- specify intent of engaging them for only A or B

so like
i could specify that I am _trying_ to engage them +A -B, or +A +B, or
-A -B, or -A +B, or i could specify that I am only trying to engage A,
and ignoring B, or only trying to engage B, and ignoring A

let's also assume that I can detect if A or B are engaging
and maybe that I can log whether A or B are engaging!
