when the main character speaks to a character it sucks in their speech
and spits it out backward and scrambled, and keeps sucking and more
things they might say get yanked out of their mouth and into the void
and they start squirming and flailing

then when it moves away it all gets unsucked and goes back into their
mouth and they calm down, and say a second thing that casually
comments on the main character, as if their experience rewound such
that they only experienced the parts of it that weren’t too scary
