2002 was the empires last chance

I was disheartened enough at the time to scribble " Its always darkest before the dawn ".
Things looked bleak.  Mong even declared a " Crypto Winter ". 
But then that winter of our discontent was made - if not summer - a smidgen of spring, by Condi Rice.  She made some little mistake that made me wonder if this empire was that invincible.
Then, by the end of the year, the antiwar movement had made great strides. 
The WHIG powers-that-be were now visibly worried.
Here then - in late 2001 and early 2002 was the last empires last chance to go full-on-fascist.
They plumped for covert fascism instead - a foolish mistake - and we haven't looked back since.
By 2006 the Cheney Gang were neutralized - and by 2011 it was plain cryptoanarchy was taking over. Bambi was a lame-duck - ditto Dumbfuck.  The ' American Century ' was over by May 2005. This is the internet century and its future is mapped out - cryptoanarchist all the way.
