it looks like a lot of patches have been made to address issues like
these, including to the kernel.

it's a little daunting that part of the fix involved firmware. i do
have local firmware,.but with a different naming convention and
generally suffixed with 'sdio' which i'm unsure if is okay.

i'm wondering if these patches may have likely made it to raspbian,
the official operating system, but not ubuntu arm 64, which i am
running.
