uhhh it uses the key repeat rate to do so.

i guess it could be nice to measure the fastest repeat time, and wait
twice for that to register a release, so it moves smoothly every frame
isntead of when the repeat time happens.
if instead i used an event device, it wouldnl't work on
windows/mac/anything esle.

there are also terminal codes for getting mouse information on stdin.
