Finally, a data scientist called the absurdity of "open sourcing the algorithm." The algo is probably a well-known technique, it's the data that drives the results and that data shouldn't be made public.

What in the world do the people (like the new owner of Twitter) who are saying "open source the [Twitter] algorithm" think "the algorithm" is? And what do they think the result of open sourcing it would be?

One good thing that 
@elonmusk
could do is to put more effort behind ML* techniques for identifying bots. Put an end to botfarms, and some governments will fall.
