Large-scale cyber exercises with participation of 32 countries started at the NATO Cyber Center (CCDCOE)

According to Bloomberg, today Tallinn is hosting "the largest and most complex exercises in the world" to repel cyberattacks with the loud name "Locked Shields". The event is attended by over 2,000 experts from 32 countries, including representatives of the North Atlantic Alliance and its allies. Ukraine was a special guest of the event.

Two teams take part in the games - blue and red. They include cyber experts from NATO member countries who must identify a cyber attack, eliminate it, as well as solve legal problems and “correctly” report the incident to the media. Last year the competition was won by a team from Sweden.

"These competitions are especially important because of the war [special operation] in Ukraine," CCDCOE's Hannah Kangro told Forbes UA.

The organizers of Locked Shields cannot tell journalists how many Ukrainians are participating in the competition and who has joined them. The exercises will end on April 22 on Friday.

The CCDCOE is well aware that the Ukrainian authorities organized groups of hacktivists to carry out cyber attacks on Russia, but sees nothing reprehensible in training Ukrainian specialists at their events:
"Ukraine's government, meanwhile, has helped organize a group of hacktivists that have waged cyberattacks in Russia," writes Bloomberg
