Reconciling quantum physics with gravity is a long standing problem with the standard model.

Quantized space-time implies non-locality, simultaneity and etc. Space dilation already includes time stretching on a mind-bending level. Incorporating quantum mechanics could require new quantum computers far stronger than even the best we have now. 

TL/ DR while talk of ' News from Nowhen ' must be assumed to be quantum quackery ie the tainted garbage shoveled by the likes of Deepak Chopra, there are times when an actual cosmologist might discuss the subject seriously in reasonably respectable hard-science publications.
