First, a step back: it doesn't matter whether this is PV, or NYT, or Roger Stone, or me. Bartnicki says it's not illegal to publish stolen information so long as you didn't steal it.

The 2 (aiding), 3 (accessory), and 4 (misprison) are just ways to criminalize stuff after the fact, a way to fiddle with timing, to try to hold them accountable for stuff that happened before they got there for what they did later.
