Biden to use private firms to monitor extremists.

 I will quote from that article, below:
"The Biden administration is reportedly considering contracting outside firms to track ​”extremist” chatter online in order to circumvent legal restrictions on the surveillance power of federal agencies like the Department of Homeland Security."                                  [end of quote]
I spent thousands of hours in law libraries learning primarily Federal law.   So when I read this kind of quote, I wonder who is the more clueless.   It is highly unlikely that the Federal government can LEGALLY circumvent a block on their surveillance power over groups that merely believe things that this government doesn't want them to believe, and say things that government doesn't want them to say.
Harkens back to COINTELPRO, a Vietnam War era government operation to infiltrate black and anti-war groups.

Government isn't supposed to spy on groups that they happen to dislike.  But it's not surprising that Biden is resurrecting such outrageous rights abuses.
