In the real world sometimes anti-social criminals get charged for different things than they may be notorious for.
The canonical example here being getting Al Capone for tax-evasion.

And in the real crypto-anarchist cypherpunk world there's a laundry-list of reasons to sentence Julian Rand Paul Nazbol Assmange to death for spitting on the sidewalk.
