The figure of Federica Montseny has been one of the most studied and is one of the best known of Spanish anarchism. As we noted above, she grew up in an anarchist family. She was a writer whose literary production is abundant. During part of the civil war, she headed the Ministry of Health and Social Assistance, in which she launched, among other measures, the first draft decree authorizing abortion in Spain.
