just imaging two lovers jiggy-jogging along and one changes their mind, maybe
their bell rang first, the other participant is then required to withdraw and
retire seconds from the finishing line.

Who wrote this rubbish, it just won’t work, it’s no different to buying a
flight ticket to Sydney and just as you see the lights of Sydney — you tell the
pilot you have changed your mind, you want to go back to Brisbane;

think the pilot might tell you to enjoy the journey, could be fun
when you get there.
