About 4 years ago, I bingewatched the series Person of Interest. The main difficulty in actually implementing such a system, I figured, was finding out how to get access to all those camera-feeds from around the city. But I also wondered how much CPU power would be necessary to run the whole thing. Probably tens of thousands of multi-core CPUs, I decided.
