There are no such things as bad actors, there are only those who are
elite and those who cause trouble for the elite. Hence no effort to
investigate or even spend a hundred hours investigating various likely
pedophiles in the government, they weren't grabbing the children of
the elite.

With social norms like those, what does it matter?

Without a fair application of laws and rules, and a listless
population, the actually important parts of democratic institutions do
not exist.

Besides, some of those in disagreement helped build your fortunes,
they don't wish to compete, they only want outer space colonies and
such. It is self evidently reasonable to allow the naysayers to leave.
The difference in wealth is equal to the difference in interest from
junk versus government bonds.
