"Anarcho"-Capitalist" Libertards in action

From the newsletter editor:

"When Rodrigo Ochigame was an undergraduate at the University of
California, Berkeley, other students rushed to major in computer science
and land high-paying tech jobs, but Ochigame designed his own course of
study, focused on “algorithmic filtering” and the “computational
regulation of social and political life” — fortuitously, years before
the Facebook-assisted election of Donald Trump. After graduating, he
contributed an article to the New Left Review on how social media
filters hurt Indigenous activists in their land dispute with
agribusiness in Ochigame’s native Brazil.

That journal article would ultimately help Ochigame conduct an
investigation, published in The Intercept, on how the field of
artificial intelligence ethics has been twisted to serve the goals of
big tech. The New Left piece caught the attention of staff at MIT’s
Media Lab, and they recruited him. Prior to joining the lab, Ochigame
says, “I had some theoretical objections to the mathematical formalisms
of fairness in AI but didn’t realize the organized lobbying operation
behind it.” Under the leadership of Joichi Ito (financially connected to
Jeffery Epstein), his misgivings only grew, and Ochigame resigned in
August."
