"Among its features, HarmonyOS can adapt to any
device to create a seamless cross-device experience
to build the basis for a shared developer ecosystem,
according to Huawei. The tech giant also stresses
that the new platform will officially be open source,
which could be a part of the firms efforts to fend
off US spying allegations."

Opensource, no blobs, cross and better platform for
developers, microkernel, some formal verification, security...
if true, could much better than iOS and Android.

Also consider the jurisdictional walls and different motivations
regarding spyware, advertising, etc with Facebook Apple Amazon
Google and the rest including FVEY+ ... vs China, Russia,
India, Asia, etc. Users may see those as valuable offsets
and worth buying into.
