I am so close to tears. I so badly want to write a comment thanking
you for showing our side of things. I am usually well versed. I am
usually good at voicing my thoughts and fears.

We have been so villianised internationally. We are tattered from the
unending onslaughts of accusations and threats of violence that we no
longer know where to turn in search of a safe haven. We are broken
and afraid.

There have been 3,933 farm attacks reported and 1,824 farm murders.
This number is scary, but a farm murder and farm attack is reported
as a singular crime. This means that when there is an incident
at a farm, regardless of the amount of people killed, it is reported
as "a farm murder" i.e. a singular crime.

The attacks and murders are egregiously violent in nature. Late last
year, the farm of two people in my church was invaded. The husband
and wife was watching tv when four armed men broke into their home.
Their two daughters, aged 9 and 6 years old, were in bed upstairs.
The husband was tied to a leg of the kitchen counter, his wife was
dragged by her hair into the kitchen where three of the men
raped her in front of him, saying "Do you see what your white pig
cunt is worth?” Her head was cut off with a knife and placed at his
feet.

The eldest daughter heard a commotion downstairs and went to see what
was going on, one of the invaders grabbed her, stepped on her head
with his boot, yanked her by her feet until her neck and back
broke and she stopped screaming. The younger daughter was grabbed by
the feet and hit against the wall in her room until she died. They
then stabbed the farmer with a garden spade 8 times, took his car
keys and left. He survived the attack. He committed suicide on new
year’s eve.

Statistics on farm attacks and racially motivated hate crimes against
us are purposefully skewed to make our claims seem baseless and
factually incorrect. I do not deny that our history is fraught with
injustices committed against our fellow countrymen. Apartheid lasted
for 43 years, from 1948 up to 1991. It ended 27 years ago.

But our generation is not guilty of those crimes. We have not
personally committed such crimes against anyone. We do not recognize
the current white darling society we have been accused of upholding.
The society we see is one where it is not only completely acceptable
for threatening and insulting our people, it is applauded and greeted
with cheers and laughter.

There have been, on multiple occasions, political party
representatives distributing flyers on university campuses calling
for the "fighters" to "Kill the Boer, kill the racist." Boer is an
Afrikaans-Dutch word used locally to refer to white people.

The leader of the eff party, Julius Malema, has been quoted as saying
"We are not calling for the slaughter of white's, at least not yet."
He was never held accountable for this. Him, as well as the
then president, Jacob Zuma have at multiple public rallies sung the
struggle song "Kill the Boer" and "One settler, one bullet<feff>.”
