In theory, everyone shares in the dish washing. In practice, one or
two end up "usually" doing that (or any other) particular job. In
real life, I have often ended up being the guy who quite literally
washes the dishes.

In real world voluntary organizations, the 10-90 rule is a pretty
reliable estimator: 10% of the participants do 90% of the work.
Among the 10%, a few individuals settle into a habit of doing each of
the necessary jobs most or all of the time.

The 10% also end up making most of the collective decisions, because
they are the ones who show up for the administrative meetings, know
what they are talking about, and actually do the things.

The first duty of a revolutionary is to get away with it. But the
second duty, which is really part of the first, is to find and train
your replacements and get them to do likewise.
