You said a mouthful right there.  A battle was won, but in the
material scope of the war at hand, it was a small battle.  But
Standing Rock was a transformational battle in that, although the
tribal government remains careful to call it a "peaceful protest,"
everyone who was paying any real attention knows it morphed into an
act of economic warfare, backed by battalion strength mobile infantry.

By modern uber-mechanized warfare standards, that was four battalions
just then.  And they or their replacements will most likely be wanted
at the front again - and at others as a Summer Of Discontent sets new
record high NH temperatures and record low Arctic sea ice extents.

We might that 2016 served to mobilize and integrate a network that
will remain responsive, and continue to grow.
