People will continue to use cars like this because there's no option
sans restoring an older vehicle and keeping it maintained with a
diminishing supply of increasingly costly parts. Eventually, in many
states, those cars will be refused registrations due to 'environment',
and possibly 'fuel economy'. If they're allowed to continue on the road,
they'll be antique-plated and milage-per-year limited.
