Indeed. And so do police. And politicians, and bureaucrats and TSA gropers.
Get out and talk to your neighbors and find out what they do for a living.
If they're evasive, there's a good chance they work for the government. (Or
are drug dealers or something, but at least in the US, the number of
government employees greatly exceeds even the highest estimates of the
number of drug dealers.) This information may come in useful someday.
