Good books on algorithm design?

Hello all,

   I'm looking at books on algorithm design, and would love some 
recommendations.  =)  Algorithm Design by Kleinman/Tardos looks okay, as 
does Introduction to Algorithms by Cormen/Leiserson, but both are 
seriously like a hundred dollars.

   Ideally looking for something with a solid foundations section.  A 
steep learning curve is okay though (and somewhat expected)
