"Since 1994 the ANC-led government has approved a number of controversial 
arms deals (and proposed arms deals) with countries such as Rwanda, Uganda, 
the Republic of Congo, Algeria, Colombia, Syria, Turkey, Taiwan, Kuwait and 
Saudi Arabia. Many of the recipients of South African arms are 
authoritarian and undemocratic regimes; countries with poor human rights 
records; or countries experiencing various forms of intra and inter-state 
conflict, including regional arms races."
India has recently purchased arms from DSA.
