Right on.  Worried about childrens security?  Protect them yourself,
organise neighborhood watch, arm the little tykes to the teeth, pay
private security firms, whatever.

I fail to see the inference there.

Democracy doesn't work that well.  Probably no government at all would
be better.

Let me quote yourself:

Same thing applies to most government functions.
