Meeting minutes
********************

When: 03/23/2009 - 5pm CET
Where: telcon
Attendees: 7 people on the call

Agenda:
1. Charter discussion
2. Collaboration with other Groups
3. How to get started
3a. Find an editor for the first document (use cases)
4. Misc

1)
Charter seems to be generally okay. No big remarks where made. To become
an official group in OGF the charter needs to be discusses in the
steering committee. To speed up the process this should be done before
the next meeting of the committee (seems to be every other Wednesday).

2)
Currently other groups are also working on related topics. This includes
CCIF (with UCI), DMTF and OMG. Sending out informations about our
efforts seems to be sufficient. Also trying to position us as a group
doing nice work with a focus on IaaS might give as an opportunity to
collaborate with them (for example: UCI who tries to tackle SaaS, PaaS
and Iaas)

3)
Proposed idea to get started: Collected a set of requirements and ideas;
Look at ElasticHost API and Sun Cloud API; Compare them to the
requirements. Input for this can come from the SLA at SOI project which did
a nice effort comparing interface of Cloud providers. The contents of
their work is under a license, so we could cite and use it.

3a)
Some members of the group showed interest in helping out on this topic.
Maybe spin-off an discussion on the mailing-list about the use cases.

4)
Having two session at OGF26 seems to reasonable. One for a deliverables
and milestone discussion and some group presentations. A second session
to spin-off the discussion on an API. Therefor maybe some slides about
requirements and a first shot of an API might be nice. Then a discussion
could spin-off to look if we are all on the same page.

Remarks:
* Important issue for this group: stay focused on the topic. Especially
in the charter. When the API covers more then the focused topic that is
fine - but stay focused

Action items:
* Finalize charter (Send out to mailing-list for comments till Friday)
* Contact Pat from UCI
* Look for contacts @OMG
* Begin use document (#1) (gather requirements)
* Begin description document (#2) (look at the input from SLA at SOI
project)
