Subject: GGF18 Enterprise/Standards Summit

Here is the e-mail that I want to send to targeted vendors and EUs to
get participation at GGF18 VAF/VOC sessions:

-----------------------------<start
email>--------------------------------------------------------

If the OGF standards direction and priorities is important to you, then
make certain to attend the following two GGF18 sessions:

1) Enterprise/Standards Rollup Summit #1
Wednesday September 13, 2006
4:00 PM - 5:30 PM COMM31 Room 147A

2) Enterprise/Standards Alignment Summit #2
Thursday September 14, 2006
9:30 AM - 11:00 AM COMM34 Room 147A

In both sessions, vendors & end-users will have the opportunity to
directly and openly interact with key representatives from the OGF
standards development effort to express concerns, communicate priorities
and ask questions about the overall state and direction of the OGF
standards development effort. The primary intension of these sessions
is to ensure that the standards produced by OGF are representative of
what end-users want, as well as comprehend vendor's issues and concerns
in adopting those standards.

1) The "VOC/VAF Requirements Roll-up" session will have two main parts:
1) first OGF standards representatives will present the current OGF
standards roadmap and identify what requirements are being comprehended
in the roadmap. 2) Vendors & end-users will have the opportunity to
express their own requirements and use cases as well as expectations
they have for the OGF standards development effort.

2) The second session, "Grid Requirements/Standards Summit", is a
workshop with OGF standards representatives to determine the gap between
the current standards roadmap and the priorities & the requirements
expressed by vendors & end-users in the first session, "VOC/VAF
Requirements Roll-up". The expected outcome of this session is a list
of clearly identified areas of alignment as well as areas of
misalignment, and a plan for
OGF standards effort to collaborate with vendors and end users to close
the alignment gap.
