Well, I think there is no hard condition that eliminates any kind of
application. However, the whole thing is well based on the grid use cases,
especially in our first specification we had in mind commercial data
center use case. As such, I would say "any kind of applications" would

Certainly, a scientific application would be in scope of ACS.
Our latest draft spec is now under a large reorganization and is missing
the example usages. The previous one contains some detailed description
for the data center use case. Among the expected is the 3-tier Web site
system, today one of the popular type of E-business system and often to
be hosted by ASP.
