Some of us who are more cynical (read: experienced) never believed the relaxed enforcement of encryption export controls would stay relaxed. And some of the more cynical even suspected the laws and regulations on the books would be enforced with no notice, and retroactively. And some of the exceptionally cynical may hypothetically have continued to develop encryption code but never released it under their own names. -- Neca eos omnes. There's also https://www.reddit.com/r/cypherpunks which could use some tender love and caring, and be it just by way of crossposts from the usual suspect subreddits.
