this idea of protecting the universe from anihhilation by a human-constructed paperclip factory (i.e. runaway borg) by using the speed of light boundary to show the danger in advance has a serious problem if you can predict general universal patterns about the universe, i think you can maybe send information faster than light by assuming some of it is already there
two branches: one, hash out ftl information propagation to see how reasonable it is, i think it relies on stimulating distant discovery of itself second, considering of what provides for this and regions of the universe where it is difficult to stimulate, are they safe?
i think it works out kind of because the whole universe, and the spread of a borg, are living systems too that also evolve the needed patterns of life; one could cast borglike behaviors as immature things that aliens would swiftly defeat you reach a space where complete evolution and the whole universe are solvable, and contain pathological patterns that counter them … something regarding the meaning of life being uncertain in our culture, and how this gives a space to continue to mature with pathological harms
regarding ftl travel based on distant predictability, if that works i think it can, thinking a little of how highways would develop of complex predictability, and these could possibly be mapped but are also hideable, and the similarity with diverse situations on earth
