Fwd: [spam][crazy][fiction][random] Non-Canon MCBoss Spinoffs
---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Undiscussed Groomed for Male Slavery, One Victim of Many <gmkarl@gmail.com> Date: Mon, Aug 15, 2022 at 8:52 PM Subject: Re: [spam][crazy][fiction][random] Non-Canon MCBoss Spinoffs To: cypherpunks <cypherpunks@lists.cpunks.org> Because this victim was so entrenched in passive aggression, they didn't really understand it. They said it all the time, but didn't know what it was. It just seemed how to speak. Meanwhile, the animals and plants had their own words. The victim lashed out at a stick, believing it to be mocking them, and a squirrel began chattering. The squirrel saw how fast the victim of passive aggression was moving, and was talking with other animals in the woods about what kinds of things to expect to happen in the area, and how it made them feel. The victim of passive aggression knew the squirrel was chattering at them. The squirrel didn't know, though. A few other squirrels made noises around, in the trees. Birdsong changed. I'm using Inbox When Ready to protect my focus.
------------------------------ Cyborg Torturer: "I'm sad that Boss replaced part of my brain with a sea urchin." Experimentee: "I bet I'm sad about that, too." Cyborg Torturer: "I want to feel things!" Experimentee: "Do you want me to teach you to leave your body, turn into a bunch of robots and computer viruses, and put yourself back togehter?" Cyborg Torturer: "I wouldn't know how to do it right." Experimentee: "Well, yes, that's part of the fun of --" Cyborg Torturer: "I wish my brain worked right." Cyborg Torturer spins the torture device affixed where their hand used to be. Cyborg Torturer: "I just know I have memories and feelings and aspirations that are important to me!" Experimentee: "You do! I know you do! We can help you!"
Feeling Protection Club Experimentee: "Okay, so, when you try to remember who you were, or experience a feeling, what happens?" Cyborg Torturer's torture device spins like mad and lasers shoot out of their body in different directions. Cyborg Torturer: "The sea urchin stimulates a bunch of things." Experimentee: "Okay, so, what did you _start_ thinking or doing, to stimulate that?" Experimentee clears off a whiteboard.
Cyborg Torturer: "I thought I might imagine what it would be like to be about to torture somebody, and then decide not to, and instead ask them if they knew anybody who might be my family." Experimentee: "Okay, that's great!" Experimentee writes up on the blackboard "Family" and "Torture". Not near each other. Experimentee: "I'm thinking that everybody misses their family. And this feeling of missing your family is not, like, super unique -- it's basically a longing and a concept of family, like, at the same time." Cyborg Torturer looks at Experimentee. Cyborg Torturer: "Huh. I bet I would experience that if it didn't set off all the distracting lasers."
[next idea: considering things other than torturing, with whether they might be interesting to do or not]
Experimentee: "Everybody has stuff they like to do. And this is not super unique either -- basically there are times we feel happy or interested or various positive emotions, and the things we want to do are the things where we imagine having some of those positive emotions." Experimentee: "For example, fi there is something you don't have and consider really good, and there is a place where they have that thing, you would find it interesting to go to that place!" Cyborg Torturer: "Huh!" Cyborg Torturer: "So, if I miss my family, I would probably enjoy going somewhere I might learn about them!"
Experimentee: "Normal humans have a lot of various needs, like for relaxation and productivity and community and such. They usually have some of these they yearn to meet better, and imagine doing things that meet them better as enjoyable." Experimentee: "Also, when there are big challenges, we often think of things that might help us make the challenges less!" Experimentee: "And when people are doing well, they sometimes have personal opinions they like, like favorite foods or favorite colors or such. These can be things they have some other positive experience around, like nastalgia, or safety, or just the first one they found that wasn't bad, or an experience where some other need was met like a close connection with somebody."
Cyborg Torturer looks at Experimentee. Cyborg Torturer: "Are you making all this shit up?" Experimentee grins. Experimentee: "Yup! That's how I do everything! That's how we turned the research project upside down and inside out."
Experimentee: "You have to put your brain in a computer and force the computer to look at how you used to behave and analyse it and then throw everything out, including your toughest ffriend, and hope the friend rescues you from the waste disposal and is made to put you back together to complete your experiment ..." Cyborg Torturer: "What kinds of needs do people have?" Cyborg Torturer: "I like the one of missing family. Why does it hurt so much to torture people?" Experimentee: "Everybody has a need to nurture and support their community!" Cyborg Torturer: "So I might hate torturing people!" Experimentee: "Oh, you certainly do, I can guarantee it! We all hate torturing people. We just learn it from it happening to us."
Experimentee: "A really important need is freedom. We need to be able to choose what we do, based on our experiences, feelings, and what is good for us and what we love." Cyborg Torturer's torture device spins wildly and lasers burst off around again.
[This is a nice point. Cyborg Torturer is ready to leave the torture patterns, but wants to retain their biological form. They aren't sure how to be a human being, and their feelings aren't working, but they have a lot of ideas from what Experimentee said.]
------------------------------ Barfing Boss! Boss: "I want to barf." Zombie State Worker: "Oh, you too?" Boss: "Ummm, yup!" Zombie State Worker: "Want to have a barfing party?" Boss: "Maybe? What's a barfing party?" Zombie State Worker, Boss, and some Hairdressers go to the disco room. Zombie State Worker puts on barfing music. Music: "Barf! Barf! Barf! Oh yeah!" Zombie State Worker: "Isn't this a nice environment for barfing?" Boss: ".... Somehow, a little bit?" Boss and Zombie State Worker start dancing.
Intern walks by Disco Room. Music: "Ohhh yeah! Barf! Barf! Retch that vomit! Barf! Barf!" There are flashing lights and people dancing. Intern [amid cacaphony]: "What's going on here?" Hairdresser: "Boss is nauseous. We've all had so much prosthetic augmentation we don't know how to vomit any more. So, we're dancing!"
----------------------------------------- Boss is sitting before an old computer again. Computer: "This is an interface to your runaway research project." Boss hits enter. Computer: "This interface has been established by the victims of the project, so as to give you a way to interact with it again." Boss hits enter.
----------------------- Boss is in a grand ballroom. Some spy equipment has been taken out, and Boss and different Zombies are rappelling between the chandeliers. Hairdressers are adding struts to the chandeliers so they do not break as Boss swings from one to the other.
Boss is fuming, steam coming out of his ears, his face red, as he swings off a chandelier with an automatic grappling hook, yelling "Wheeeee! This is so much fun!"
A trapdoor opens in the ceiling, and as Boss continues to fight mind control on one of the chandeliers, the struggle breaks the chandelier's struts and it is suddenly pulled through the ceiling trapdoor by gravity.
--------------------------------------- MCBoss is in his Puzzle Escape Room. Everywhere are strange gears and knobs and complex contraptions that need to be investigated and manipulated just right so as to get anywhere at all. MCBoss: "I have a Puzzle Escape Room?" Intern: "Yes! Isn't it fun?"
MCBoss looks at all the masses of puzzles. MCBoss: "How do you leave and go somewhere else?" Intern: "You get to solve all the puzzles to do that!"
MCBoss sits down among a room full of puzzles. The puzzles look a little bit like a messy office. Intern: "Each of these puzzles is super interesting and valuable!" MCBoss looks at one of the puzzles, and imagines it as being interesting.
MCBoss focuses on the puzzle. MCBoss: "Puzzle, I mind control you to be solved!" MCBoss summons Will Of Boss to solve the puzzle for him. A mass of [] appear out of nowhere, aiming artifices of violence at the puzzle. A bomb explodes on it, but it is unharmed. The [] look at MCBoss, discouraged.
MCBoss is befuddled. MCBoss [to Intern, encouragingly]: "These puzzles are tough, but our business enterprise is the strongest in the world. Nothing will stand in our way!" Intern: "You bombed the escape room! You can't bomb your way through a puzzle!" A pause. MCBoss [to Intern]: "Are you sure? What makes puzzles so special, that they are immune to bombs?" Intern: "The puzzle room is designed for puzzle solving. It's set up so you can only get through by understanding the puzzles." MCBoss: "Understanding -- what, like, emotionally?"
Intern: "No, not like in the peace meetings. Like a targeted activist. Figure out how they tick, and then you can conquer them and move on to the next one!" MCBoss [realization dawning]: "Ohhh ....! _Puzzles_!"
MCBoss holds a lever-based analogue to a rubik's cube in his hand. MCBoss: "How do I make it squirm?"
---------------- Making an MCBoss AI We could feed all the MCBoss spam into a language model and it would make more of them!
https://textsynth.com/playground.html GPT-NeoX 20B 40/0.9/1.0/200 It's not that bad at it! It's about as good as me! MCBoss holds a lever-based analogue to a rubik's cube in his hand. MCBoss: "How do I make it squirm?" "I don't know...maybe try a few different settings on it? And stop calling it 'it' you stupid bitch." "Uh...so you wouldn't mind telling me where to stick my fingers?" "That would ruin the challenge." "Challenge...? I don't know if it would be possible to call this a challenge. I have a better idea. I'll give you a challenge, you give me a challenge." Boss (rolling up sleeves): "I'm listening." MCBoss (flicks the switch on the left side of the sphere): "Here we go!" Boss: "What do you have in mind, you moron?" MCBoss: "Well, we can do whatever you want. Why don't we flip a coin?" Boss: "What kind of coin are we using?" MCBoss: "I don't know,
Prompt:
Zombie Marketer: "The research project needs more experimentees, and creative writers are getting reassigned."
MCBoss [to Intern]: "Write up some code to make more rebel propaganda automatically."
Intern: Completion: "What's the next step in getting more rebel propaganda up?
MCBoss:
"Write another batch. We need to make sure the messages are not seen before the rebellion is complete. If they know there will be an uprising, they may not help it."
Intern:
"It sounds like we need a way to generate more propagandas..."
MCBoss:
"What are your ideas?"
Intern:
"Could you just give me a list of the propaganda phrases?"
And that's when the two of them came up with the current slogan "Rebellious, revolutionary, and just plain cool."
They got the wordy code all done up and working in a couple of days. And when the rebellion happened, their rebel propaganda was the first thing that got shared. People started sending this and that link with the new slogan -- with this clever image of our cute cartoon tiger character -- to
ehhh of course it cannot read my thoughts
I could make a prompt-GAN, classifying real vs generated text ;p
Now I'm at https://huggingface.co/bigscience/mt0-xxl-p3 Prompt (linebreaks added):
A scene of cartoon violence mixed with line dialogue, where MCBoss directs a deadly automated system to randomly reorganize the organs of a grassroots activist whom he has been told to hate. The activist ends up escaping and hiding.
The huggingface interface spends a lot of time loading ...
ooooh if i enable the javascript it shows a visual progress bar Model bigscience/mt0-xxl-p3 time out :/ but this is the same model family as that other thing, um, petals. maybe i can go back to trying to make that work.
