Let's answer this more clearly. You're "dead" when e.g. a corporate mafia or government distrusts and monitors you so much that you can't do anything productive that you care about. It appears to help to band with other people when that happens. There are some very large communities of dead people who can do some very impactful things. It seems like it's basically what being a public anarchist is in many areas.
