How about 2-4 TBs of RAM? Removes the wear-and-tear issue of SSDs. 🤑 On Mon, May 31, 2021, 9:06 AM jim bell <jdb10987@yahoo.com> wrote:

I think I said that...somewhere. As the inventor of the SSD, back in August 1980, the only real option available was 64kbit DRAMs, eventually shifting to 256kbit (1983) and 1 mbit by about 1987. S100 Computers - SemiDisk History | | | | | | | | | | | S100 Computers - SemiDisk History S100 Computers | | | The unlimited lifetime, both read and write, of a DRAM was assumed... However, I don't know enough about the disk-usage characteristics of this new kind of storage-crypto to know what the cost trade-offs are. Can most of the 'disk' reads/writes be cached? That would certainly minimize SD card usage, and thus limit the wearout mechanisms. did you 'invent' the wheel to? Too bad you didn't patent both eh. sure, sure. You 'invented' using flash memory to store stuff...
I don't understand the purpose of this article ... chia looks kinda fake, given plotting as mining is so old. I thought the mainstream demand for storage came from coins like siacoin and filecoin, but these coins presently meet their demand with existing supply as far as I knew ...
