The citizen-soldiers will be following up with people at local residences. The maximum penalty for not complying: a fine of $500 and 90 days in prison. The local chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union blasted the new rules, objecting to the collection of motorists’ contact information in particular. ..

I actually had the rare experience of VISITING Federal Death Row in Terre Haute, Indiana, in late 2005. Turns out that I was in the SHU (Special Housing Unit; "solitary", "the hole") and I needed dental work. Well, the dentist's office for SHU happens to be in Death Row; as I recall it might have been called "Secure Containment Unit".) At the time, as I recall, there were about 41 inmates there. If the law is passed it might be grounds to block Assange's extradition on espionage charges, since, reportedly, UK does not extradite to capital punishment nations (although thinks black sites for accidental-death torture are god's will be done).
