Exactly my thoughts. Duckduckgo and other services under US jurisdiction *by law* saving logs, mails etc.

There are laws - 'must' log / save, in fucked up countries - 'must not', in nicer countries - 'may' or 'no such law', in other weird / free / limbo places In the context, the US is actually largely the third case. In that situation, human nature trends toward saving, which then gets abused, whether by the saver and their lineage, or by an authority over, or adversary of, the saver.
