12355. (a) Except as provided in Chapter 2.5 (commencing with Section 12301), any person who assembles, maintains, places, or causes to be placed a boobytrap device as described in subdivision (c) is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment in the state prison for two, three, or five years.
Everyone should avail themselves of all means of self defence.
Boobytraps made with deadly weapons or explosives, or for that matter 'infernal devices' (look it up shithead), are a federal crime and will get you snuffed with malice aforethought if you argue with the ATFE goons who come calling.
